2008/09 was a glorious season for Gold Hill FC. Despite being a founding member of the CCFL and formerly one of the 'big three', recent times had been lean. Following the Chamberlain/Williamson takeover in 2007/08 Gold Hill looked to be a team on the up. They went from the bottom of Div 2 in the previous season to winning Div 2. With the Derek Ridgely plate securing a double, Chamberlain/Williamson (aka Williamberlain) declared the first season a success.
But the autocrat had bigger plans...with cunning calm, Williamson was excommunicated and sent to France for a minimum of one year hard labour despite his pre-season training forming the foundation for what was to come. With the Williamberlain partnership no more, Chamboramian came to be and the rest as they say is history.
You can read about the historic exploits of 2008/09 in this archive. The Div 1 title was reclaimed with a near perfect record after a 15 year hiatus. Gold Hill also reached the last 16 of the NCC and the semi-finals of the CCFL Cup but choked in both. All in all though, arguably it was the most successful season in the clubs proud history.
